The Birth of Boulder In-the-Round
Boulder In-the-Round was created by local singer-songwriters Theresa Peterson, Hunter Stone and Wilson Harwood.
“We all met while doing various open mics around town, and started talking about putting a songwriter night together,” said Peterson. “We started at Hunter’s house, and soon connected with the folks at Vapor Distillery in East Boulder where we performed for two years.”
Then a friend connected Peterson with the directors at eTown in downtown Boulder. eTown is the nationally syndicated radio show that features live performances by well known national and international artists and is hosted by Nick and Helen Forster.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Every month eTown graciously provides the space, a sound engineer, volunteers and even bartenders. Peterson is always on hand as the emcee and curator, and each month four new artists are featured. But they are more than artists or performers. They are a part of the strong local music community in the Front Range. They play around town and support other area musicians. Lineups are carefully selected to create the best flow and mixture of original music.
